IBP Material Handling Facility

IBP Material Handling Facility

This $2 million, 38,587 square foot facility for Iowa Beef Processing is a project designed and engineered by us in-house.

Storage for finished beef and pork products must be kept at 28 degrees. So the project called for installation of five, 7,000 pound, roof-mounted refrigeration units, as well as extensive piping.

The 40-foot joist bays were constructed on the ground. Panelizing bays on the ground increase productivity and also provide a safer working environment for welders. When finished, the bays were lifted into place.

As a design/build project, we were responsible for engineering and construction under one umbrella contract. It also enabled us to complete the project in less than six months. In fact, it was only 166 days from the start of design to completion of the project.

17 South Briar Hollow Lane

17 South Briar Hollow Lane - Building Transformation

Based on the highly successful performance by PBG Builders on completed projects for the Tennessee Titans, team owner, K.S. "Bud" Adams, contracted with PBG Builders again to upgrade an existing commercial property he owned in Houston, Texas.  The project called for his staff to relocate from a leased facility to a building owned by Mr. Adams.  Due to the timing of the rental space's lease agreement, PBG Builders were presented with a very restrictive time frame in which to perform.  The project for the building renovation started in July 2011with a move-in date of no later than January 31, 2012.

The initial scope of work on the project involved upgrading the finishes in the 1970s office building to make the space more suitable as a headquarters for Mr. Adam's company.  However, despite the six month construction time frame, the project scope grew from an initial $2 million interior finish project into an $11 million complete building renovation.  This effort included gutting the building, and starting with a shell to transform the facility into a premier Class A office space.  Despite the increase in the scope of work, the permitting and construction schedule could not be extended.

Once again, PBG Builders succeeded in meeting the owner's need within budget and within the time frame allocated, despite the change in scope.

B.F. Myers

B.F.Myers Facility Expansion

B.F. Myers, one of Nashville's oldest retailers, had been operating in a 31,000 square foot facility. PBG was hired to double the size of the facility and re-model the original store.

The owners needed to keep as much retail space operating as possible during construction. Not only was PBG able to accomodate the requirement, but the store remained in continuous operation throughout the project.

A new facade was created to improve the customer's first impression of the store. The new facade ties seamlessly with the the original exterior of the remainder of the building when viewed from the front parking lot.

Key interior features included a new Broyhill showroom, new public restrooms, and an interior design center.

Pinnacle Bank

Pinnacle Financial Partners - Branch Banks

For Pinnacle’s first office in the Franklin area, we built a 4,000 square foot facility with features such as offices, conference space, and a learning center.

The main entrance is covered with a steel and glass canopy, and a high gallery with sloped exterior windows extending the length of the bank greets customers. An interior glass water wall adds another feature to the window area.

Custom millwork was added to the customer service and teller areas, and the facility was built complete with a vault.

Tennessee Titans Training Facility

Tennessee Titans Practice Facility

Tennessee Titans - LP Field Fan Experience Enhancements

PBG Builders have worked with the Tennessee Titans since 1999 when the company constructed the Tennessee Titans Practice Facility. Team officials contacted PBG Builders near the end of 2011 with the opportunity to be part of a project to make substantial upgrades to LP Field.  This effort was to enhance the overall fan experience, and to improve the ingress and egress for the 70,000 fans that regularly attend Tennessee Titans games.

The project presented a number of substantial challenges, including a restrictive six-month time frame for a project that would optimally take nine months to one year to complete.  To further impact the schedule, a number of interruptions during the course of construction, such as the CMA Fest, an international soccer tournament, a Kenny Chesney Concert, and the Music City Marathon amplified challenges where the construction project had to safely co-exist with these events.

The Tennessee Titans valued PBG Builders expertise and entrusted them to act in a consultative role on the acquisition and installation of the high definition video displays at each end of the stadium, enhanced sound systems, and other critical elements of the project.

The result was a project completed prior to the start of the National Football League pre-season game in August 2012, without exceptions, pleasing the Tennessee Titans management.
